Here is an overview of a typical patient treatment journey at 1A Orthodontics:

Initial consultation

At the first appointment, in addition to a full clinical examination, we will scan the inside of your mouth using our digital scanner which allows us to produce 3D images of teeth, soft tissue, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan. We may also take x-rays and photos. From these tools we will design your ideal smile and plan your preferred braces, whether Invisalign, fixed labial braces or fixed hidden lingual braces.

Treatment Plan

We will provide you with a Treatment Plan based on your wishes and concerns, the initial consultation, clinical information and any further investigations we may carry out. This Treatment Plan will include options where relevant and a clear recommendation together with an estimate of costs and length of time to complete the treatment. We would be happy to discuss the treatment plan in detail with you prior to making a decision.

Treatment Plan acceptance

If you decide to go ahead with treatment, you will be asked to sign an acceptance and we will then arrange for any deposit and fee payment to be made. Alternatively, we will also progress any initial patient finance application.

Course of Treatment

Further to you formally accepting a Treatment Plan, we will plan and book the necessary appointments for your course of treatment. If any initial treatment has been agreed to be carried out by your regular dentist prior to commencement of our services, we will liaise with your dentist to co-ordinate timings.

Treatment completion

Once treatment is finished, we will carry out a series of specific actions designed to check everything planned has worked as intended and advise you that your treatment is completed. This will include asking for your feedback about the treatment, care and experience.

Aftercare

To ensure long-term success of the treatment, we will stress the importance of ongoing regular check-ups with your regular dentist and conscientious oral hygiene. In the rare event of post-treatment complications, we guarantee that you will receive remedial care as a priority.
